The Difference Between Precipitated Silicone and Fumed Silicone

There are two different silicone: precipitated silicone and fumed silicone.


What's the differences between precipitated silicone and fumed silicone?


Precipitated silicone:it will become white when pull it. Easy broken,life expectancy is better.

It's widly used on key buttons,pads,etc.

Color: semitransparent,milk white,light yellow, grey

Hardness: 30°-70°  (common:40°-70°)

Density: 1.1-1.12g/cm2



Fumed silicone:anti-tearing is better.Wonnt become white when pull it. It's widly used on baby products.

Hardness: 30°-80°  (common:40°-60°)

Density: 1.04-1.05g/cm2
